2003 to 2009
The sun clearly came out for our long bus jurney to Pithiviers, twin town of Ashby de la Zouch, south of Paris. We played two concerts on this tour, one in Pithiviers and the other in Gien. Brahms 4 featured, alongside the Saint-Saëns cello concerto no 1 with soloist Rebecca Hewes.
Spirits were clearly still high on the way home.
On each tour, we get together for a full orchestra dinner. This one was near the river Loire in Gien.
Our 30th anniversary concert in November 2003 took place in Emmanuel Church, Loughborough, when we had marvellous pianist Katya Apekisheva performing Tchaikovsky with us.
In 2004, we were still rehearsing at Rawlins in Quorn where this group picture was taken.
More touring fun in Galway in May 2009. On this tour we performed the Brahms Requiem with a local choir in one concert and our current patron, Tom Bowes, played the Brahms violin concerto in both.
